Punchers Show Growth in Loss to Goldthwaite
Mason junior post Robert Johnson keeps his eyes on the ball as he prepares to win the tip against Goldthwaite.

The Mason High School boys basketball team lost to Goldthwaite 61-36 January 9 in the District 29-2A opener.

“I wasn’t disappointed in our effort, just kind of disappointed in our execution at times,” Mason head coach Craig Koch said. “I think our kids are dialed into what we want to do and what they're expected to do. And we just haven't played enough basketball to be consistent with it all the time yet.”

The Punchers trailed by as many as 10 points early in the contest and cut it to a four-point deficit in the first quarter and then towards the end of the second half.
