The Blanco girls basketball team went 1-2 in the Johnson City tournament Dec. 29-30.
The Lady Panthers defeated Canyon Lake 28-22 in their opening game. Blanco led 15-14 at halftime at extended its lead to 28-16 after three quarters.
”We were a little sloppy out of the gate, which was somewhat expected after the break,” coach Matt Karnes said. “We did a solid job on defense, which kept us in the game until we could do some things on offense in the third quarter. We really didn’t play well offensively in the fourth, but again, the defense pulled us through.”
