The Blanco boys basketball team played six games from Dec. 16 through Jan. 2 in preparation for the district schedule.
The Panthers lost to Fredericksburg 55-43 on Dec. 16. Justin Karnes led the Panthers with 13 points. Gavin Luker scored nine points, while Cody Waltrip and Caden Spivey each sank seven. Waltrip led the team with six rebounds. Robbie Jimenez and Luker each had three assists and Jimenez had four steals.
Blanco defeated Luling 59-40 on Dec. 19. Karnes paced the team with 21 points. Spivey scored 13 and Jimenez sank 10 points. The leading rebounders were Jimenez and Spivey with seven each. Jimenez made three assists, while Noah Gallas and Karnes each had two steals. Sawyer Kersten, Foster Capshaw and Waltrip each blocked one shot.
