Llano County honey is earning statewide accolades, as resident Cindy Scoggins recently earned top honors at major Texas honey competitions, including the State Fair of Texas and the Texas State Beekeepers Association Honey Show.
Scoggins, owner of La Cima Rocosa Honey with her husband Mike, captured third place at the State Fair of Texas Honey Contest in September for both black jar taste and medium color honey.
Mike and their son Jeff also earned an honorable mention in the medium color category, marking a strong showing for the Llano-based beekeepers at one of the state’s most competitive honey events.
