Johnson City beat Comfort 61-8 on Dec. 9 at home and Florence 58-18 on the road on Dec. 12, advancing its record to 7-6 as a district test awaits on Dec. 19 at Center Point.
The big wins come after a retooling in the Lady Eagle strategy, with an emphasis on transition play and a change in the defense highlighting the new styles of play on the court.
The game against Comfort was an early test of head coach Chris Schlicke’s changes, and he saw his team score its second-highest scoring total of the year while also allowing the fewest points of the season.
