LCRA, PEC award $15K grant for accessible restrooms Cottonwood Shores parks

The City of Cottonwood Shores soon will be able to count new restroom facilities as amenities at two popular community parks, thanks to a $15,952 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and Pedernales Electric Cooperative.

The community grant, along with $15,952 in matching funds from the city, will help fund the construction of new accessible restroom facilities at Aspen and Noah Thompson parks. The facilities will help the parks provide visitors with essential amenities to encourage longer recreational visits and promote physical activity and social interaction.

“This project will make a meaningful difference our residents,” Mayor Jared Dodd said. “The new restroom facilities will be used every day as families visit the parks, children wait at the nearby bus stop and our community comes together to play, fish, entertain and spend quality time outdoors. These improvements ensure that everyone can comfortably enjoy our parks and the experiences that make Cottonwood Shores a great place to live.”
