Blanco residents are invited to help honor deceased veterans Saturday through the annual Wreaths Across America event.

The annual event begins at noon Saturday at Blanco Historic Cemetery. After an opening ceremony, volunteers will place wreaths on veterans’ graves in several Blanco County cemeteries - Blanco Historic Cemetery, Twin Sisters Cemetery, St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mt. Horeb Cemetery, McKinney Loop Cemetery and Miller Creek Cemetery.

“This is a great example of the ‘TEACH’ of Remember, Honor, Teach, the foundation of Wreaths Across America,” said Candy Cargill, event organizer.
