The Johnson City girls basketball team hosted Blanco and won 55-18 Nov. 25 in team’s first home game of the season.
Holding Blanco to just one point in the first quarter and four total in the first half, Johnson City took 20 points of its own into halftime. Blanco found some momentum, including a three-point buzzer beater to end the game, in the second half, but it was all Johnson City in the 55-18 final score.
The win sent the Lady Eagles into the Thanksgiving break with a welcomed win after the 1-3 showing in the Port Aransas tournament the previous weekend. To head coach Chris Schlicke, wins like this can get the team back on track.
