The Blanco County Commissioners handled mostly routine items in a meeting that lasted just over 30 minutes on Monday, November 24.
The meeting was originally scheduled for Nov. 11 but was moved due to Veterans Day. The commissioners picked Monday since they were already scheduled to meet then to canvass votes from this month’s election. The commissioners canvassed the Nov. 4 election that saw 3,388 Blanco County residents cast ballots on 17 constitutional amendments and the Blanco ISD VATRE election for those who live in that school district. There were five provisional votes that were counted. Blanco County residents approved all 17 amendments, as did statewide voters. Blanco ISD voters did not approve the VATRE election.
The commissioners approved a contract with Neffendorf & Blocker, PC, to perform the county audit for fiscal year 2024-25. They also replaced former Blanco Mayor Mike Arnold with current Mayor Candy Cargill on the Capital Area Council of Governments’ Capital Area Regional Transportation Planning Organization.
