The Mason Chamber Music Festival recently received a grant from the Mason Community Foundation for its spring 2026 concerts as well as the Second Annual MCMF Mason String Academy to be hosted in June of 2026. Founded by community members in Mason and members of the Austin Symphony Orchestra (Artisans String Quartet), the MCMF aims to provide the rural Hill Country with access to quality chamber music and professional performances. The MCMF has hosted 9 years of string music in Mason, ranging from performances of Schubert, Mozart, and Beethoven to popular hits and jazz music from the last decades.
This coming year, the Mason Chamber Music Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary with multiple concerts. The weekend of March 27th-29th, the MCMF will have three concerts for the public, including performances of Beethoven, Brahms, and Haydn from the Artisan String Quartet and a production of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. In addition, the Quartet will perform at Mason ISD for the students. The Second Annual MCMF String Academy will be held on June 1-5, 2026 at the Seaquist House. Last summer’s academy provided professional string instruction for 10 students including small children, teens, and adult students.
The MCMF annual fundraiser will be the evening of Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 7:00 PM. Join us for a night of festive music as the Artisan String Quartet performs “500 Years of Christmas Music.” The program includes selections from the “Nutcracker Suite” and Corelli’s “Christmas Concert” as well as traditional Christmas carols and contemporary hits. Tickets for the fundraiser are $50 and the proceeds will go towards the spring 2026 concerts and 10th anniversary celebration and the Second Annual MCMF String Academy. All tickets will be sold at the door.
