Blanco County veterans celebrated the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps with a luncheon on Sunday afternoon at the Old Blanco County Courthouse.

The Marine Corps was founded in 1775, and anniversary celebrations took place worldwide throughout the year. These include sporting events, community engagements, and historic tributes. Members of all branches of the military, and their spouses, were invited to the Blanco County event.

Pastor Carlos Cloyd of Blanco Methodist Church gave the Invocation and thanked those who “Gave the ultimate sacrifice for us all, for our country, for our Lord and God, and blessings on each other, our country, and our leadership. May we always remember that we are one nation under God.”
