Blanco ISD voters narrowly rejected a Voter Approved Tax Rate Election on Nov. 4.
Voters in the school district cast ballots against a VATRE by 139 votes in unofficial tallies released last week. There were 1,243 votes against the VATRE and 1,104 in favor of it. It was the second straight year that the school district’s voters rejected a VATRE.
In a breakdown by county, 1,105 Blanco ISD voters in Blanco County rejected the call for a VATRE, as did 180 in Comal County and 48 in Hays County. There were 955 votes in Blanco County for the measure, along with 111 in Comal County and 37 in Hays County.
