Johnson City opened the postseason with a 3-0 win over Bracket on Oct. 30 in the bi-district round of the volleyball playoffs.
The game was played in Devine for the defending state champions. The Lady Eagles made a statement early on with a 25-11 first-set win and followed it up with a 25-12 win in the second. Johnson City kept the pressure on and took a dominant 25-6 third-set victory to complete the sweep of Brackett and continue its playoff run.
Johnson City’s now plays Skidmore-Tynan on Nov. 4 in Pleasanton for the area round of the playoffs. A win there would send the Lady Eagles to a regional semifinal matchup with the winner of Nov. 3’s matchup between Snook and Schulenberg.
