After the warmest October on record in Texas, with little to no rainfall since summer, Llano County and the Highland Lakes finally saw significant precipitation over the weekend of October 24-25.

Most of the accumulation occurred on Saturday, with 1-3 inches reported across the region. The rain helped replenish soil moisture and local waterways after months of unseasonably dry, warm weather.

According to the Lower Colorado River Authority’s Hydromet network, Buchanan Dam recorded the most precipitation with 3.15 inches, while 1.83 inches fell in Llano, 2.40 inches in Tow, 2.23 inches in Kingsland, 1.91 inches in Marble Falls, 2.19 inches in San Saba, and 0.96 inches in Mason.
