The Horseshoe Bay City Council meeting was held on Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. in the council chambers. Mayor Elsie Thurman called the meeting to order and welcomed those in attendance. Rev. Dr. John Duncan of the Church at Horseshoe Bay gave the invocation. Thurman announced this was the last meeting she would be leading as mayor, and thanked the citizens, council members and staff for their support over the past two years.

Proclamations

Thurman declared the week of Sept. 28 through Oct. 4 as “Source Water Protection Week.” The Lower Colorado River basin is one of the most vital resources for our region. This proclamation brings awareness to residents and visitors of source water pollutants, water conservation methods, and public involvement in local water issues and programs. Preservation of the water supply is a regional concern, and the health, prosperity and quality of life of Horseshoe Bay citizens and local communities depend on a reliable supply of safe, high quality drinking water.
