Punchers Post First Shutout This Season
Mason senior running back Colton Bonnett watches teammate Jayden Smith, a junior running back, leap for joy after
the senior scores one of his two touchdowns against the Christoval Cougars. The Punchers are on a bye this week
and will travel to Thorndale Friday, October 10, for the start of District 14-2A Division I play.

The Mason High School football team put all the elements together in a commanding 35-0 shutout of Christoval September 26.

The Punchers did it by playing complementary football where all three phases and their playmakers shined brightly.

“Well, defensively, when you hold somebody to minus-25 yards rushing, it's a pretty good night, and you shut somebody out,” head coach and defensive coordinator Wade Griffin said, “so I would say that one impressed me the most. We did really do good things offensively.”
