The Blanco football team overcame several miscues as it rolled to its third straight victory, 35-18 over Ingram last Friday.
“We came away with a win (Friday) night, but it wasn’t the cleanest performance,” said Blanco coach Kent Walker. “We made too many mistakes with turnovers, penalties and missed opportunities that slowed down our momentum. Even with the sloppy play, the defense came up with key stops and the offense did enough to secure the victory. The team knows improvements are needed moving forward, but a win is still a win. We will continue to get better.”
The Panthers (3-1) received the opening kickoff on a return by Brodrick Siwecki at the Blanco 12-yard line. Blanco fumbled on its first play of the opening drive and Ingram recovered at the 10. The Panther defense held firm and forced Ingram to kick a field goal for a 3-0 lead with 10:26 remaining in the first quarter.
