The Johnson City volleyball team swept Blanco on the road on Sept. 16 but fell in Wimberley 3-1 on Sept. 19, its first loss since Aug. 23.
With district play on the horizon, the final preparations are underway for the defending state champion Lady Eagles. While head coach Heather Wilson still sees room for improvement, Johnson City has steadily built itself into a strong force in the volleyball world over the past few weeks.
“I’d like to see us play our game from the very beginning,” Wilson said. “Ultimately, (Johnson City is) getting better. We’re winning games in three that we were taking to five a couple weeks ago. They’re improving and doing the things that they need to do.”
