Friends and Neighbors, I’m Shannon Grote Worrell, and with great community pride and a deep sense of responsibility, I am announcing my candidacy for Mason County Judge. My family has called Mason home for five generations, and our roots here run deep. My great-grandfather, Marvin Grote, established Grote Angus Ranch, while my grandparents, Oliver and Doris Grote, built Country Collectibles into an institution that shaped the character of our town. I have been blessed to be married to my soulmate, James Worrell, for nearly 30 years, and together, our greatest accomplishment is raising our son, Jarrett, who is now a freshman at Mason High School.
I graduated from Mason High School in 1994 before earning my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Texas A&M. I’ve served on the Mason ISD School Board, the Mason County Appraisal District Board, and have worked with some wonderful people to make the Mason County Jr. Livestock Show and Mason 4-H the success it is today. In my professional career, I am a Senior Consultant with Integra Partners, one of the nation’s leading agricultural recruiting and consulting firms. With my husband we manage Worrell Enterprises, our fifth-generation ranch, where we focus on herd health, genetics, and national business partnerships. Beyond the ranch, I manage multiple local real estate investments and other entrepreneurial business ventures.
This campaign is not about me—it is about us. Mason County faces many challenges: managing growth, maintaining infrastructure, supporting public safety, and protecting the quality of life for which Mason is known. I pledge to lead with transparency, integrity, and a heart for service. I will work to ensure that our county is represented, protected, and positioned to seize opportunities that benefit both our citizens and our local economy. As County Judge, I will work collaboratively with our commissioners, law enforcement, first responders, and community leaders to ensure fiscal responsibility, support public safety, and protect access to rural healthcare. Most importantly, I look forward to personally listening, learning, and having meaningful conversations with Mason County residents in the months ahead.
