The City of Blanco passed its 2025-26 budget and tax rate at the Sept. 9 council meeting.
The council passed the budget and tax rate in five motions, which included the maintenance and operating tax rate of $0.1834, debt tax rate of $0.2267 and ad valorem tax rate and levy of $0.4101 cents per hundred dollars of assessed valuation of taxable property within the city limits. The motions each passed 4-1 with council member Ryan Moses opposed to each motion. This budget will raise $60,000 for the city’s “rainy day fund.”
The city’s total budget for the upcoming fiscal year is $5.81 million, up from $5.66 million in the current fiscal year. Revenues for the upcoming fiscal year are projected at $6.11 million, up from $5.88 million in the current fiscal year. These numbers may have changed slightly since they were posted on the city’s website.
