Pictured left to right in front of the $45,825 check to The City of HSB, are event organizer Rich Strasser, Ladies 9-Hole president Paty Price, firefighters Kyle Schmidt and Keith Payne, Fire Chief Doug Fowler, and firefighters Jason Blackmon, Jonathan Lewis, Tyler Bryant, Thad Martin and Aaron Stewart. Hidden in the background holding up the big check is Men’s 9-Hole President David Groos.

On January 29, 2021, John Borota, the new President of the HSB Cultural Enrichment Society, thanked outgoing President Mike Maine for his valuable, inspired leadership of the group dedicated to connecting audiences to shared experiences of artistic expression and lifelong discovery.

Over 90 nine-hole golfers and many others showed up at the Caprock Pavilion for the 9-11 Benefit Golf Tournament to raise funds to purchase a much-needed firefighter rescue boat needed to protect lakefront property and provide rapid response rescue capabilities on Lake LBJ.

At the end of the day, the organizers had over $45,000 in hand and expect the contributions to continue arriving toward a $50,000 new goal.
