The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close the SH 29 bridge over I-35 for bridge repairs.
Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. through Friday, Sept. 19 at 5 a.m., the SH 29 overpass will close. Eastbound traffic will detour to the southbound I-35 frontage road and U-Turn at Leander Road. Westbound traffic will detour to the northbound I-35 frontage road and U-Turn at Williams Drive.
In addition, the southbound I-35 mainlanes from the SH 29 exit (exit 261) to the SH 29 overpass will be closed nightly, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., through Friday, Sept. 19. The Williams Drive entrance ramp will also be closed nightly. Traffic will be detoured onto the southbound I-35 frontage road. See attached maps.
