On Thursday, September 4, 2025, at approximately 2:34 p.m., the Llano County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a large fire on County Road 216. Upon arrival, the Llano Volunteer Fire Department observed multiple properties affected by the blaze.

At the time of the incident, Llano County was under an active burn ban due to elevated wildfire risk, prohibiting most forms of outdoor burning.

An investigation was launched in collaboration with the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Texas A&M Forest Service, and the Llano County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators discovered that a previous fire had occurred in the same area on August 28, 2025, also during the burn ban.
