Llano County has moved up its Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Grant Meeting this year, shifting the hearing date to Tuesday, October 14, 2025, instead of the traditional November 10. The decision was made during the September 8 Llano County Commissioners Court Meeting.
The change comes after County Treasurer Cheryl Regmund requested shortening the waiting period between the grant application deadline and the hearing from 45 to 20 days. The application deadline remains September 26, giving applicants just over two weeks before commissioners review requests.
Regmund explained that the adjustment better aligns the grant review process with the county’s fiscal year, which begins in October. While commissioners acknowledged that the earlier timeline might cause confusion, Regmund noted that applicants had already been notified by email, and many repeat applicants have already submitted requests.
