For the last three years, Mason High School tennis player Keegan Ratliff and his family have made their way to Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, New York, to do what 1000s of spectators do this time of year – attend the U.S. Open.

But while that may be the end result, it’s not the Ratliff's motivation.

Showing the tennis world that every athlete, no matter their physical disabilities, can pick up a racquet and compete on the world’s biggest stages is what prompts Keegan Ratliff to bury the butterflies that come when he is making his way to the court to compete in front of tennis fans. “I’m trying to help build para-standing and bring it to a big stage and make it an official league," he said. “I’m trying to show that just because you have a disability, you can accomplish big things.”
