The Johnson City football team traveled to Sonora last Friday and came home with a 22-12 win over the highly favored Broncos.
With a light rain falling, the Eagles kept pace with Sonora through a tight contest over the first three quarters their strong running game broke out in the fourth quarter to secure the win. The Eagles are now 1-1 on the season.
Johnson City head coach Brent Kornegay saw his team’s work over the past week pay off as it kept a strong Sonora offense in check.
