Blanco City Council Gets Comprehensive Master Plan Update

Blanco City Council Gets Comprehensive Master Plan Update

There was a special Blanco City Council meeting last Thursday which included the fourth budget workshop focusing primarily on the Hotel Occupancy Tax fund, an update on the Comprehensive Master Plan by Jerri Conrado of Langford Community Management, and a vote on the proposed tax rate for 2025-26.

Conrado shared the portal that has been created to gather and compile community input for the CMP. When she addressed council and attendees, she explained that the first three months focus on data collection, including “existing plans and assessments so that we don’t leave anything out and that we cover what you’ve already done in the community.” The consultants working on the plan hope to have a public meeting sometime in October to unveil the portal and encourage residents to engage with it.

At this time, the portal is available for city council, staff and key stakeholders to submit information and feedback and for the public to view at https://langfordplanning. com/blanco-rcp. The community facing version of the portal will be rolled out in the coming months and will likely have some different features and subpages. She reviewed the timelines and “milestones” that the grantee General Land Office (GLO) requires. When the public version of the portal is live, Katy Gentry offered that the Library’s “Wired Wednesdays” program could be a resource to help residents explore and engage with the tool.
