One year after the 2023 Llano High School football team finished 5-5 and missed the Class 3A Division I playoffs, the Yellow Jackets didn’t say much.

Instead, according to head coach Matt Green, they simply went to work, determined to put to put the program at its rightful place in 2024. That led to the Jackets earning their fourth district crown in the last five years and winning three playoff games, none bigger than the heartstopping 30-29 victory against Goliad in the Class 3A Division I state quarterfinals.

The Jackets needed a late touchdown and the two-point conversion followed by a defensive stand for the victory.
