The Llano Independent School District Board of Trustees held its annual budget and tax rate hearing followed by a regular board meeting Monday, August 25, at the Llano ISD Community Building.
Chief Financial Officer Ryan Turner presented the 2025-26 proposed budget, which he said closes months of challenging work that began in February. Certified property values from the appraisal district increased about 2 percent, factoring in the expanded homestead exemption. Enrollment also rose, boosting revenue and allowing the district to hire more teachers.
The district lost several veteran educators to retirement this year, replaced by less experienced staff whose salaries eased budget pressures. Turner said those adjustments helped balance the budget without cutting programs.
