Llano County Approves 2026 Budget, 2025 Tax Rate

Llano County Approves 2026 Budget, 2025 Tax Rate
Four new Chevy Silverado Z71 trucks joined the Llano County Sheriff’s Department fleet this week. At about $57,000 each before outfitting, they cost less than the department’s $70,000 Tahoes. Older Tahoes will remain in service as backup vehicles.

Llano County Commissioners met in regular session Monday, August 25, at 9:00 a.m., starting with two public hearings on the proposed Fiscal Year 2026 budget and the FY2025 tax rate.

Budget and Tax Rate Hearings

The first hearing, on the FY2026 budget, opened at 9:05 a.m. Only one resident, from Tow, spoke. He urged commissioners to “be as trim as possible” and suggested raising revenue by charging heavy trucks and mining companies whose operations are wearing down county roads.
