Central Texans could finally see a break from the heat this Labor Day weekend as a cold front moves in, bringing lower temperatures and a good chance for rain.
The front is expected late Friday into Saturday, dropping highs into the 80s and raising rain chances to 40–60% through Monday. Some areas could see more than an inch of rainfall.
The shift will be welcome after weeks of triple-digit heat, but it may complicate outdoor plans. Cookouts, football games, trips to the lake — and even the opening of dove season on Monday — could all see interruptions from scattered showers and thunderstorms.
