9-Holers Hosting Sept. 11 Golf Tournament to Support Firefighting Boat Fund
The 9-Holer 9/11 golf tournament planning group met at the city hall conference room to work out details and continue work on the sponsorships that were pouring in from the community to help fund the firefighting boat needed for the HSB Fire Department to protect homes, lives and property on Lake LBJ. The two 9-Hole HSB golf groups, the Ladies 9-Hole Golf Association and the Men’s 9-Hole Golf Club, have come together to sponsor a Golf Tournament on 9/11 to help the fire department raise funds to purchase a fire rescue boat for Lake LBJ.

Event chair Rich Strasser, a relatively new citizen of HSB, is a retired law enforcement over, a former first responder and a member of the Men’s 9-Holers.

“We want to do something to give back to our first responders to show respect and appreciation for them,” he said. “We want to invite the community to drive through at the Cap Rock Pavilion on the morning of 9/11 and drop money or a check in the fireman's boot.”
