The Community Resource Center in Johnson City will have a new owner and details are being finalized regarding the continuity of the myriad services offered at the location. Earlier this month, the Texas Housing Foundation, which owns the CRC, announced that it had signed a letter of intent to sell the building to one of its tenants, the Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Centers.
“We expect this transition to bring positive changes to the county,” said THF’s Chief Executive Officer Allison Smith, who answered questions for the News in an email on Monday. “Hill Country MHDD will expand access to high-quality mental health services in Blanco County, a need they’re uniquely positioned to meet. They have a strong track record of serving vulnerable individuals, and their expanded presence will only strengthen the local safety net.”
THF will retain an office in the building.
