If Rocks Could Speak – a Geologist’s View of the Texas Hill Country
Dana Rowan

The public is invited to attend a talk sponsored by the Texas Master Naturalist, Hill Country Chapter being held in Fredericksburg this month on Monday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m.

Topic: If Rocks Could Speak – a Geologist’s View of the Texas Hill Country

Description: The rocks that make up the Texas Hill Country form a record of the last 1.2 billion years of Earth's geologic history! Come hear the tale these rocks might tell us as we take a virtual field trip along the area's roads and parks and learn about the diverse environments that were here over the ages. Hear what early settlers thought when they first arrived in the Pedernales Valley and what an early German settler thought about the many fossil remains found there. Gain an increased appreciation for the abundant natural resources controlled in part by the geology that supports a thriving natural habitat for our plants and animals.
