Punchers to Face Llano in First Scrimmage
Wade Griffin is entering his first year as the Mason Independent School District athletic director and football head coach. Griffin is the program’s defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. All of those roles aren’t new to him as he’s had those positions at other stops that include Weimar, Giddings and Elgin where he has guided numerous teams to program records in wins.

The Mason High School football program will make the short trek to Llano Friday, August 15, for the first scrimmage of the season.

The junior varsity plays at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity taking the field at 7:00 p.m.

The scrimmage will have a controlled portion, meaning each team’s starters will have a certain number of plays in a row and then switch to the other side of the ball. Then reserves also will have the same opportunity.
