Highland Lakes Democratic Women Celebrate 38 Years

Highland Lakes Democratic Women celebrated its 38th anniversary this year as a chapter of Texas Democratic Women, the women’s caucus of the Texas Democratic Party.

HLDW supported many community organizations this year, along with granting a $1,500 scholarship to Bliss Talamantes of Marble Falls High School. Donations were given to several organizations. Monetary donations were given to the ARK of the Highland Lakes and Burnet County Child Welfare Board; non-perishable goods and bottled water were donated to the Helping Center food pantry; backpacks were collected for the Kingsland School; school supplies and games were donated to the Boys & Girls Club; and Homemade cookies were also donated to local businesses.
