By 6:30 a.m. Monday, August 4, right around the time the sun is beginning to shine on another Texas day, the Mason High School football players will be on the practice field for the start of training camp for the 2025 season.
They’ll get into position- specific drills and perform other tasks new head coach Wade Griffin has on his practice sheet.
No contact is permitted by rule of the University Interscholastic League, the governing body of extracurricular activities in public schools. That means athletes will wear T-shirts, shorts and helmets.
