The 57th annual Dr Pepper Tennis Outlet Open may have had its most successful event in several years thanks to the number of entries in both the Junior and Adult Divisions.
The event, hosted by the Mason Tennis Association, was July 17-20 and welcomed players ages seven to 70 years old. The number of entries totaled 685 because multiple players compete in singles and doubles. In all organizers estimated the tournament drew between 250-300 players.
“We had beginners, high school players, college players, past college players and even one retired tour player,” Mason Independent School District tennis head coach Cade Smith said.
