The Blanco County Commissioners approved changes for Lights Spectacular as well as Hotel Occupancy Tax funds for the annual festival at their July 22 meeting.
The Blanco County Courthouse is unavailable for use by Lights Spectacular due to the cupola repair project, so many changes will be necessary for the event in 2025. The commissioners also approved a request by Lights Spectacular for $50,000 in HOT funds.
Rayette Bible, representing Lights Spectacular, told the commissioners that donations are down and they’ll need a larger budget this year due to the changes. They plan to light the downtown differently since the courthouse will be unavailable, which will increase the costs for the event.
