The sounds of football will once again fill Llano Stadium at 7:30 a.m. Monday, August 4, to start practices for the 2025 season.

Players will be wearing helmets, T-shirts and shorts for two days then add shoulder pads on day three when “you can block people but still not tackle to the ground,” offensive coordinator Ryan Priem said. By the end of the week, the Yellow Jackets will be in their full gear all in compliance with the University Interscholastic League.

They will end practice at 10:30 a.m. Coaches will have built-in breaks throughout the session. Priem noted the staff meticulously planned every minute of the practice to ensure production while also making sure the players are adjusting to the new gear appropriately. After all, most haven’t worn full pads in months.
