A body was recovered from the Llano River Monday evening after police were dispatched to the area below Roy B. Inks Bridge. According to Llano Police Chief John Bauer, officers responded around 5:15 p.m. on July 21 after a person fishing below the dam reported discovering a deceased male in the riverbed.

Due to elevated water levels in the river, Llano Volunteer Fire Department Chief David Gilliland was called to organize a swift water rescue team to assist with the recovery. A drone was deployed to help locate the body and capture video and photographs of the scene before recovery efforts began.

Assisting in the operation were Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens, Texas Rangers, and Llano PD officers, along with the LVFD. The body has not yet been publicly identified, but officials believe the deceased is a male between 40 and 50 years old. As of early this week, no missing person reports had been filed in Llano County.
