As counties throughout Central Texas continue the long road to recovery following recent catastrophic flooding, Fannie Mae is stepping in to offer free disaster recovery counseling services to impacted homeowners and renters.

Through its “Here2Help” initiative, Fannie Mae provides access to HUD-approved housing counselors who offer one-on-one guidance to individuals navigating the complex process of disaster recovery. These services are available at no cost and include:

  • A personalized recovery assessment and action plan tailored to each individual’s needs.
  • Assistance with managing debt, including bills, credit cards, mortgage, or rent payments.
  • Support with filing and appealing claims with FEMA, insurance providers, and the Small Business Administration.
  • Access to online disaster recovery forums, tools, and educational resources.
  • Regular follow-up check-ins to monitor progress and ensure a successful recovery.
