Inks Lake State Park (ILSP), known for its mission to be the “Best Lil’ Park in Texas,” continues to make strides in inclusive outdoor recreation. Already an Austin Chronicle award winner, the park is committed to ensuring that people of all abilities can enjoy the outdoors through its annual “Fun for All” event and year-round adaptive programs.

The “Fun for All” initiative began several years ago as a way to highlight accessibility in nature. Since then, ILSP has added a variety of adaptive equipment and features to make the park more welcoming to visitors with disabilities.

Among the most notable additions is a Grit Freedom Chair, a rugged, all-terrain wheelchair designed to handle the park’s granite gravel trails. Available at no charge, this specialized chair allows guests with mobility impairments to explore more of the park’s natural beauty.
