Donald Riggs, 43, of San Saba, Texas was sentenced to 40 years in prison after a plea of guilty in the 33rd Judicial District Court of Llano County, Texas, Judge Allan Garrett presiding, for the offense of Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.
Riggs was arrested on October 18, 2024 following a lengthy investigation into the distribution of narcotics into the Llano County and San Saba County areas as the result of a joint effort by the Llano County Sheriff's Department, the San Saba County Sheriff’s Department, the San Saba Police Department and the Marble Falls Police Department. Based on information obtained during the investigation, Riggs was stopped while operating a vehicle in Llano County. A drug dog at the scene alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle operated by Riggs. Based on the alert, a search of Riggs’ vehicle was conducted. During the search almost one kilogram of methamphetamine was discovered. Additionally, a significant amount of pills that contained a controlled substance and a small amount of cocaine was discovered. Riggs pleaded guilty to Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver in exchange for a 40 year prison sentence. Riggs also pleaded guilty to Possession with Intent to Deliver for the illegal pills in exchange for a 20 year sentence and a 10 year sentence for Possession with Intent to Distribute for the cocaine. All sentences will run concurrently.
Riggs has previous convictions for drug related offenses from both San Saba and Llano Counties.
