While flooding devastated portions of the Hill Country over the weekend, Blanco County was largely spared any devastation.

The Blanco River rose almost half a foot in Blanco during the peak weather conditions, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Weather Prediction Service. The river rose to a high of 12.92 feet at 5:30 p.m. on July 4, up from 12.55 feet at 11:30 a.m. that day.

Among other effects, the City of Blanco was put under a boil water notice by Texas Water Company. The boil notice was still in place at press time Tuesday. Check the city’s website or Facebook page for further updates as they become available. TWC said the boil water notice was put in place due to the substantial amount of debris from the flooding event.
