President Ray Bible reported that a $50,000 loan payment on Rescue 51 was made to principal from fish fry proceeds. Bible also reported on capital budget requests for the 2025-2026 ESD budget. “With new development our city needs and deserves an engine, and we will request permission from the ESD to order a new engine as part of our 5-year plan. It will take two years to build the new engine.” Bible said that three new handheld radios and new air packs will also be requested in the capital budget. Bible said some Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) items including boots and gloves are in. “I talked to Metro Fire for pricing on new SCBA high pressure tanks. Ladder 51 is needing repairs and will need to be taken in for service.” Bible said that Metro Fire is working on pricing for a quote for a new heavy brush truck and skid unit which will be funded by a grant received from the Texas Forest Service.
