On Saturday evening, the audience gathered in the shade of the Courtyard for an open-air concert performed by the Air Force Band of the West.
The concert started, appropriately enough, with Strike Up the Band. This classic by George Gershwin is a familiar standard which set the mood for the evening. It was uplifting, bouncy and jazzy.
Justin Weisenborn stepped to the front of the bandstand to welcome everyone to the concert. He also expressed his gratitude for the temperature being far more pleasant for this concert than it was when they last performed in Blanco. He asked everyone to rise for the Star-Spangled Banner.
