Billy Todd resigned as a Mason Independent School District teacher and coach to become an assistant coach at Alvarado Junior High School.
He submitted his resignation in late May. 'It's closer to my family,' he said. 'Our boys are in college. It's a substantial pay raise for my retirement. I'm leaving because it's what's best for my family. We're closer to everybody.'
Todd, who spent nine years in Mason, exits as the softball head coach with the most wins in program history, which is more than 100, and the longest tenure.
